Travel back in time
As soon as you walk through the door of the Cactus Bar, you'll feel as though you're traveling back to the '30s.
Since we are the oldest bar in downtown Boise, we wanted to honor our space and the history of our quirky hometown. On our custom-made bar top, you'll find the history of Boise, ID spanning from the late 1800s to the early 2000s. Tourists and locals alike love coming in to view the over 200 photos that show what Boise once was to what it is today. In the bar top, photos of businesses, schools, landmarks, parades, the Boise River, and more flow from one end to the other.
Since the Boise River is so iconic in our town, we wanted to allow our photo idea to resemble the flowing, rushing water of the river. Under each photo is a description and a date. Come in and learn about our city while sipping on the strongest drink in town.
